About Us
El Dato is the local's guide to the Riviera Maya — a platform built by residents, for residents.
Who we are
We're Klara and Daniel, two locals passionate about supporting small businesses in our community. Klara has lived in the Riviera Maya for 8 years and brings a career in marketing. Daniel started as a chef in Michelin-starred restaurants and has spent the last 10 years in startups.
Together we noticed something: information about where to eat, what to do, and how to live well here exists — but it's scattered across WhatsApp groups, word of mouth, and local connections.
What we do today
We gather exclusive deals and experiences for residents — the famous "local price" that exists everywhere but nobody had mapped. Show your INE or proof of residency and save 10–50% at restaurants, spas, beach clubs, and more across the region.
Where we're headed
We're building tools for local businesses to connect directly with their community — loyalty programs, referrals, personalized offers, and communication channels that don't depend on paying Meta for every customer. Our vision is to empower service businesses to build warm, lasting relationships with their customers.
